The 14 categories in the AML4Tracker risk methodology, explained with documented examples. The groups below describe that taxonomy; they are not universal legal classifications or the numerical bands of a live report. Availability depends on the report and data provider.

How is this concept used?

The relevant concern is the evidenced provision of resources to terrorist individuals, organizations or acts. Funds can have lawful or unlawful origins; the recipient, purpose and supporting evidence matter.

Hezbollah (Hizballah): AQAH and Bayt al-Mal

In its 30 June 2026 notice, the U.S. Treasury reported that Terrorist Financing Targeting Center members jointly designated financial institutions and officials linked to Hezbollah, including Al-Qard Al-Hassan (AQAH) and Bayt al-Mal. The notice describes their roles in the group’s financing. This is a sanctions action by the participating jurisdictions, not a criminal verdict or a list attributing cryptocurrency wallets.

ISIS: the Mohammed Chhipa crypto-financing case

A U.S. Department of Justice notice dated 8 May 2025 reports a 364-month prison sentence for Mohammed Azharuddin Chhipa following a federal jury conviction for material support to ISIS. Court evidence described more than US$185,000 in cryptocurrency sent to Turkey during the scheme, with funds then routed to ISIS members in Syria. This is a documented U.S. criminal case; a wallet assessment still needs a verified link to the transactions.

Connection to a wallet report

Examine the stated source and transaction relationship. A fundraising address, a verified case and an indirect wallet connection provide different levels and types of evidence.

A common misconception

Lawful income does not rule out misuse, but a wallet connection alone does not establish the holder’s intent.

Put the explanation in context

When you need a wallet report, open the application and follow its normal account and scan process.
