What does it mean?
Severe category group
Addresses or entities subject to applicable sanctions restrictions; designation is not itself a criminal conviction.
The 14 categories in the AML4Tracker risk methodology, explained with documented examples. The groups below describe that taxonomy; they are not universal legal classifications or the numerical bands of a live report. Availability depends on the report and data provider.
How is this concept used?
A sanctions finding should identify the authority, listed address or entity, and relevant date. Restrictions and exceptions depend on the applicable regime. A designation and a criminal conviction are different kinds of records.

Nobitex in an OFAC notice
In its 2 June 2026 notice, OFAC added NOBITEX to the SDN List. This example describes that dated official designation; it is not a criminal conviction or an assessment of every customer of the exchange.

Documented example
Wallex, Bitpin and Ramzinex
The same OFAC notice added WALLEX, BITPIN and RAMZINEX to the SDN List. It establishes a U.S. list entry; another authority’s status and the ownership of any particular wallet require separate evidence.

Connection to a wallet report
Check the exact address, network and list entry, then distinguish a direct list match from a transaction connection to a listed address. An educational article cannot establish a current sanctions match.
A common misconception
A connection to a listed address does not automatically mean every connected person is listed or guilty.
