FATF 2026: Travel Rule legislation
FATF’s 16 July 2026 update reports that 83% of surveyed jurisdictions had passed Travel Rule legislation, compared with 73% in 2025. This measures legal adoption; a specific provider’s implementation needs its own evidence.

Why it matters
The Travel Rule concerns originator and beneficiary information accompanying certain transfers under the applicable rules. A law's existence does not show that a particular provider complies with it. To assess that provider, consult the competent authority's official register and the information date. The report's survey findings describe its reporting period, not the current status of an individual exchange or wallet.
